Reading Tutoring

Our goal with 1×1 tutoring sessions will be to expand your child's word recognition and language comprehension skills. 

• Instructional practices rooted in the Science of Reading.

• Recommended for families who want to schedule recurring sessions. 

• First session includes a student assessment to closely examine your child's current reading skills. These skills include recognizing sounds in words, understanding letter-sound patterns, reading words accurately, and making meaning from text. 

Writing Tutoring

These sessions focus on your child's ability to communicate their ideas on paper. This support service is perfect for families looking to expand their child's writing beyond simple sentences.

• Explore different writing genres, the writing process, and overcome writer's block. 

• Work on mechanics, sentence structure, paragraph organization, and creative expression.

• Set goals for your children based on their writing abilities and challenges. 

• For families with multiple children of close age and similar writing abilities, the tutor works with 1-3 children per hour-long writing session. 

Parent Coaching  

These sessions are intended for parents to answer questions and provide resources that address the challenges you face with your children's literacy instruction. 

• Learn how to provide intentional literacy instruction based on your family's needs. 

• This is a great option in conjunction with 1×1 tutoring or stand alone to support your teaching efforts.

• Optionally, parents can book a session for a student reading assessment before the parent coaching session.
